ABOUT US

ā€‹

Hi everyone. We're Rachel and Wills, and we’ve been together forever (well 26 years – man that’s a long time) and we both work in the arts industry. Wills is a sound engineer and sound designer and Rach is a dance teacher and choreographer.  We live in North Wales and if the recent pandemic taught us anything, it is that our favourite days are those spent together and those when we are out and about exploring. So we thought, why not share it with you guys.

HOW WE STARTED

ā€‹

It all started during the lockdown of 2020. We don’t watch a lot of TV, but when we do, our favourite thing is travel programs. During this time, we quickly exhausted the Joanna Lumley's, Chris Tarrant's and your Richard Ayoade's. Jane Macdonald? Tick – seen 'em all.  We couldn’t travel ourselves, so where could we go? YouTube apparently.

ā€‹

To us, YouTube was always a place you went to to find a video of how to fix a problem, or to watch some music videos, who knew it was watched by many people as a TV channel in itself, and that something called a, 'travel vlog' was even a thing.

ā€‹

Despite a fear of even having our photos taken, after watching some of these travel vlogs, we got inspired, we decided to, 'suck it up' and have a go at making some of these videos. Guess what? It turned out that we absolutely loved making them, so decided to commit to posting a video every week. We've been going just over a year now, and are loving it even more. We have met some incredible people on YouTube, many of which we are now proud to be able to call them friends.

All our videos are light hearted and fun, but usually have plenty of information about a place and often snippets of history.

We Didn't Expect This - Wrexham Christmas Market Review

Welcome to this Wrexham Christmas Market review video. We have to admit, we didn't expect this. We thought Wrexham Christmas Market would be small, quite poor and lack atmosphere, but we couldn't have been more wrong, Wrexham Christmas Market was excellent and an absolute hidden gem of a Christmas Market in North Wales. If you're looking for Christmas Markets in North Wales, then we urge you to check out the Wrexham Christmas Market, we think you will be pleasantly surprised! Unlike many other UK Christmas Markets, many of which are over priced, all look the same and sell the same old stuff, the Wrexham Christmas Market felt different. Set in Bellevue Park in Wrexham, Wrexham's Christmas Market consisted of a number of wooden chalets plus a large marquee housing lots of local craft, food and drink stores, along with great live entertainment through the day. It didn't quite have the look of a usual UK Christmas Market, but it certainly had the feels and heart of a Christmas Market. One of the first people we spoke with was Ruth from Cwm Farm Charcuterie Products, who makes here own Salami. We bought some and it was amazing. Check out Cwm Farm at www.cwmfarm.co.uk We spent a lot longer in Wrexham Christmas Market that we thought we would and we sampled mulled wine, German Bratwurst, looked around the lovely stalls and enjoyed the live music. We can honestly say that Wrexham Christmas Market was the best Christmas Market that we visited this year and hopefully it will only continue to grow in the forthcoming years. In addition to visiting the Wrexham Christmas Market, in this video, we also share with you our quest to get a Christmas Tree. Due to building work in our house, we were late this year getting a Christmas Tree, in fact, we nearly didn't get one at all, so we hope you enjoy our challenge to get the Christmas Tree. We also visit Wrexham's Christmas Shop to top up on some decorations for the tree. As always, we have a sum up at the end where we want to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year. This is the last of our Christmas videos this year, we hope you've enjoyed them and if you aren't already, maybe you would consider subscribing to the channel. Luminate Arley Hall Cheshire Review Vlog - Is It Worth A Visit?

Welcome to the Luminate Arley Hall, Cheshire review and vlog. In this Luminate review, we explore the magical light trail around the forests of Arley Hall, Cheshire and see if we think it's worth a visit. This year, there are six Luminate Trail Of Lights events over the United Kingdom, these are, Sandringham Estate, Margam Country Park, Shugborough Estate, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Coombe Abbey and Arley Hall and it's the Arley Hall Luminate Trail of Light that we visited and absolutely loved. In this Luminate Arley Hall, Cheshire review vlog, we take a look at the entire trail of light in the gardens and forest of Arley Hall, near Warrington in Cheshire, United Kingdom and give you our honest opinion as to if we think it's worth a visit and worth the money. We visited Arley Hall in a similar light trail two years ago with the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience, so had that in mind when we came to Luminate. To be honest, it was quite different, the Harry Potter Experience was a bit more interactive and had a few more light installations, but it was also over twice the price of Luminate. We really loved Luminate at Arley Hall and we hope this video gives you a good idea of what to expect if you're thinking of visiting Luminate at Arley Hall, Cheshire, or even if you're just interested in what a Christmas light trail looks like. This video takes a look at every part of the Luminate trail of light, but of course we have to stop for some mulled wine, marsh mallows and even some cheesy chips. We hope you enjoyed this Luminate, Arley Hall, Cheshire review vlog and if you're interested in seeing how it looked two years ago when it hosted the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience, then check out our Harry Potter vlog, https://youtu.be/WEpIE9PpWGA Thank you for watching this Luminate Arley Hall Review Vlog and letting us tell you if we think it's worth a visit. As always, we sum up the day with a well deserved pint. Ultimate Christmas Food Battle: Ranking The Best UK Supermarkets!

Ultimate Christmas Food Battle: Ranking The Best UK Supermarkets!

It's The Ultimate Christmas Food Battle!!! But Which UK Supermarket is best? It's Christmas, and all UK supermarkets are battling to get you to buy their Christmas food, but which is best? Which British supermarket has the best Christmas festive food? In this Christmas Taste Test video, we will give you our honest opinion. We bought 7 tradition Christmas food and party snacks from 3 tiers of UK supermarkets. These supermarkets were - Budget: Lidl and Aldi, Mid Range: Tesco and ASDA and, Posh: M&S (Marks and Spencer's Food) and in this video we do blind testing on our festive food favourites to see which tier and which shops come out on top - you may be surprised by the results. In this ultimate Christmas taste test, the Christmas foods that are battling to win the crown for their UK supermarket include, Pigs In Blankets, Sausage Rolls, Mince Pies, Stollen, Cheese, Christmas Cake and Christmas Pudding, but which is best? We took 3 of each Christmas food type, 1 from each tier of British supermarket - Budget, Mid Range and Posh and give our honest rating without knowing which food is from which supermarket. As always with Postcard and a Pint, we deliver this test in our own, slightly silly way, with surprises along the way. Don't miss out on our Bubble Blowing Santa who provides the, 'Bum Roll' for each winning rating. If you're looking at which Christmas food to buy and from which supermarket to buy it from, then be sure to watch this unbiased Ultimate Christmas Food Battle where we rank the best UK supermarkets, but will you agree with our results? Remember that the results of this Ultimate Christmas Food Battle is only our opinion, and that we actually really liked all of the food we tasted from all of the British Supermarkets, but we hope you had fun watching which we thought were the best. Box of Delights Filming Locations - BBC 1984 Then And Now

Welcome to this special Box of Delights filming locations video, Then and Now. 40 years ago, the BBC broadcasted a magical adaptation of John Masefield's classic novel, The Box Of Delights and in this Box of Delights locations video, we will take you on a journey to visit many of the sites used in the BBC adaptation of the Box of Delights back in 1984, but we take a look at how they looked then and now. The Box Of Delights is truly a magical tale that captured the hearts of children back in 1984 on the BBC and that magic has not been lost in 40 years. In this Box of Delights locations from the 1984 BBC adaption, we take you on a journey to many picturesque English towns, including Bewdley, where many scenes were filmed. In Bewdley, Worcestershire, we get to see the locations of Musborough Station, which was filmed at Bewdley Train Station, we pop into the Drop of Dew, which is the Little Pack Horse pub on Bewdley High Street, we take a look at the alleyway where the Lady with the Ring was standing on the steps. There is also the Police Headquarters and the Prince Rupert's Arms pub, which in real life is the Bailiff's House. In the Box of Delights, Kay Harker is travelling home to Condicote by train and arrives at Condicote Station. The Box of Delights used the beautiful Arley Station for this filming location. We take a brief look at Kay's home, Seekings House, which is Wassell Wood House in Bewdley. Many of the Box of Delights filming locations were in Bromyard. Herefordshire, where Kay Harker buys Christmas presents for Those Blessed Jones' and we take a look around this small English town. #scrobblefest24 #boxofdelights #filminglocations Other locations in this Box of Delights filming locations video include Tilterdown Farm in Bushley Green, Churchend in Bushley, Dudley Castle and the stunning Eastnor Castle, which was the filming location for Chesters. Tewkesbury and Hereford were also used in the filming of Box of Delights, and we show you these locations then and now. There are a number of Box of Delights locations that we didn't get to, including scenes filmed in Scotland and London, but we hope this trip of pure 1980s nostalgia makes you feel Christmassy and gets you ready to watch the Box of Delights all over again. Thank you for watching this Box of Delights Filming Locations video from the 1984 BBC adaptation of John Masefield's Box of Delights. Should You Visit Blackpool - Voted The Worst Seaside Town In The UK

Should You Visit Blackpool? That is the question we will be asking you in this week's Blackpool vlog, as this year, Blackpool was voted The Worst Seaside Town In The UK by the Daily Mirror. We disagree with the Daily Mirror's view on Blackpool, and in this Blackpool vlog, we show you why we think that you SHOULD visit Blackpool. In this, Should You Visit Blackpool vlog, we spend a weekend in Blackpool, staying at the famous Lyndene Hotel on Blackpool's prom. Once checked in, we go off exploring Blackpool and looking for the best things to see and do in Blackpool in 24 hours. Our first stop in this Blackpool viog was a visit to the famous Chris Higgitt, home of the famous Blackpool One Pound Burger and Vegas arcade. @mrblackpooldaddy See what we thought of Chris Higgitt's Blackpool One Pound Burger and if you could really get a good burger for only one pound. #blackpool #blackpoolilluminations #blackpooltower Our Blackpool adventures continued with a stroll up the Blackpool Golden Mile and a stop off at the Blackpool Central Pier, where we take in some arcades and Rach hits those 2p falls machines. Next up was a visit to Mi Kandy to try out their famous doughnut whippy, as seen on the excellent @TheMacMaster channel. See what we thought of this very sweet desert. Blackpool's South Pier was next, before taking a tram ride down to Blackpool's North Pier, where we stop for a well deserved drink at the Bloom Bar on the North Pier. It was then time for the highlight of our trip, we had booked to go up Blackpool Tower to view the famous Blackpool Illuminations at night. It didn't disappoint - check out the beautiful views of the Golden Mile from the top of the Blackpool Tower - just stunning. After a stroll up Blackpool's Golden Mile, viewing the famous Blackpool Illuminations, it was then time to head back to the Lyndene for a bit of Blackpool entertainment. Here we saw the excellent Ricky Aron, who was performing a rock n' roll show. Wills was very happy as there was the odd Shakin' Stevens song in the set. It was time for bed at the Lyndene, and a good night's sleep we had too. It was then time to take a morning walk on Blackpool Beach, it's beautiful and very quiet on a Sunday Morning. Before we made our way home, we decided to take a look around Blackpool Town Centre and visit the new Showtown Museum. The Blackpool Showtown museum was excellent, with displays covering Blackpool's colourful entertainment history, featuring the Blackpool Tower Circus, the Variety Shows, Dance, the Blackpool Illuminations and much more. This was a brilliant museum that we would recommend to anyone. We finished off with a quick visit to Coral Island arcade before heading home to sum up our wonderful Blackpool experience. So, should YOU visit Blackpool, the so called Worst Seaside Town In The UK? We think you should, and be sure to watch this video to see why we think you should visit Blackpool.
